A dalahäst (Dala horse) is a traditional carved, painted wooden horse with roots from the Swedish province of Dalarna. It was a common toy for children, however, with time it became a well-known symbol of Dalarna and Sweden in general. The three horses are from the 19th century and still show the beautiful traditional pattern, painted free-hand on pine wood. While iron oxide red is the horse's base colour, each horse displays a unique pattern.
